CONGRATULATIONS on your purchase of your American Bulldog or Weimaraner! I love these dogs, and I want to maintain a positive, helpful relationship with you for the LIFETIME of your dog. I will assist you as much as possible to have this dog reach it's full potential as a performance dog, show dog, hunting dog, and loyal family pet.  I encourage you to contact me if you have questions, concerns or problems with your puppy, as most issues can be easily resolved if they are addressed quickly.

The Breeder certifies: The sire and dam of this American Bulldog or Weimaraner are quality purebred, registered dogs which exemplify sound structure and temperament; they are OFA and/or PennHIP certified clear of Canine Hip Dysplasia (CHD) and Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD), and CERF certified clear of genetic eye disease.

This dog has been raised in the highest of standards, and has been fed a premium quality diet, socialized with people and other animals, and has been started on kennel crate training and potty training.

This dog is warrantied to be healthy to the best of my knowledge at this time, has been examined by my veterinarian, is current on Distemper-Combo vaccinations and de-wormings, and has an identifying microchip implanted in the nape of the neck.

This dog is warrantied to be free of the following genetic defects: Hip Dysplasia that requires corrective surgery prior to two years of age, Eye Disease causing blindness, Bilateral Deafness, and life-threatening Heart Problems.  All health warranties are void if the dog is currently or has been previously bred, seriously injured, malnourished, overweight, kept in an improper environment, abused in any way, or is not maintained in the requirements of this contract.  I will replace a defective dog (or refund the purchase price if a replacement dog is not available within a year), after receiving written proof, certified test results and/or x-rays from the Purchaser's veterinarian, and receive a confirmation from my veterinarian of the defect. I also require that the Purchaser provide a veterinary certificate as proof that the defective dog has been spayed/neutered. The replacement dog will be of comperable quality and value.

The Purchaser certifies: To have "SUNSTAR" in the dog's registered name(s), and to take full responsibility for keeping this dog in top mental and physical condition throughout it's lifetime.

This dog will be examined by a veterinarian within 7 days of purchase, and be kept updated on Distemper-Combo and Bordetella ("Kennel Cough") vaccinations, parasite control, have a Rabies vaccination at 4-6 months of age, and then annual veterinary exams and vaccination boosters thereafter. This dog will receive proper medical attention should it become sick or injured.

This dog will be properly socialized and obedience trained, beginning immediately! This dog and Purchaser will complete at least one full session of dog obedience classes before the dog is 6 months of age, another full session from 6-12 months of age, and I recommend continuing classes to follow- ongoing obedience training is essential for this American Bulldog or Weimaraner to be a well-behaved member of your family and the community. The Breeder conducts ongoing group obedience classes, and the Purchaser and this dog may attend as many of the Breeder's classes as they desire for FREE, for the LIFETIME of the dog!

This dog will be kept as a member of the family, indoors with people and accompanying the family on excursions. When outdoors, this dog will be in a properly fenced area or under proper leash control (but will not be kept chained up) unless participating in a dog show or event, or actively hunting, where it will be under proper voice control at all times. This dog will have a current license/rabies tag on it, and the Purchaser will comply with all animal control regulations.

This dog will be provided with the proper amount of "Nutro Natural Choice lamb and rice" puppy/dog food (or comparable premium quality food) with "Prevention Plus" (purchase from Joshua Kennels) joint/immune system supplement added on a daily basis.  Supplementation shall continue until the dog is at least 2 years of age- I recommend continuing for the life of the dog (please note- the feed and supplement requirements are essential for the hip warranty to be in effect). This dog will also be provided with fresh water, proper shelter, regular grooming, plenty of exercise, and humane treatment at all times.

If this dog is sold as strictly a pet and will not be shown, it must not be bred, and must be spayed/neutered by 6 months of age (the cost of the veterinary fees to be paid by the Purchaser.) A veterinary certificate showing proof of the spay/neuter must be provided to the Breeder by the time the dog is 7 months of age. If the pet dog IS bred in violation of these requirements, the Purchaser must immediately compensate the Breeder an additional $5,000 and the dog may be reclaimed by the Breeder.

If this dog is sold as a show dog, the Purchaser will show this dog and/or allow the Breeder and/or the Breeder's agent to show this dog at UKC, NKC and/or AKC dog shows.  The dog must be at least a year and a half of age to be bred, and additionally it must be x-rayed clear of Canine Hip Dysplasia (CHD) and Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD) and be certified OFA Fair, Good or Excellent and/or PennHIP certified no less than .05 below current Median on each hip (the cost of the veterinary fees and certification fees to be paid by the Purchaser.) A dog that is not certified, or a dog that does not meet the above criteria must not be bred- if the dog IS bred in violation of these requirements, the Purchaser must immediately compensate the Breeder an additional $5,000, and the dog may be reclaimed by the Breeder.

If at any time, the Purchaser will not or cannot keep this dog, the Breeder will be notified immediately and be given the first option to take the dog back.

By signing this contract, the Breeder and the Purchaser agree to all of the terms on this document. Failure of the Purchaser to adhere to these conditions will constitute a breach of contract, and the Breeder may reclaim the dog. In addition, the Purchaser will be held responsible for ALL costs incurred in any actions, including (but not limited to): court costs, attorney fees, collection fees, reclamation fees, boarding fees and veterinary fees.
